Exchanges

We do not offer exchanges at this time. If you need a different size or color, please place a new order and return the original item for a refund.

Return Window

  • Returns must be postmarked within 21 days from the ship date, and arrive at our warehouse within 30 days of delivery to be eligible for a refund.
  • Returns received after 30 days, or not meeting our policy, will not be accepted

Refund Options

  • Refund to the original form of payment or store credit.
  • Upon submitting a return request, you may choose between a refund or store credit. Once store credit has been issued, the transaction is final and cannot be reversed or converted back to the original form of payment.

Return Shipping & Restocking Fees

  • Return requests submitted on or before May 26, 2026, are subject to a flat $8.95 return shipping fee.
  • Return requests submitted on May 27, 2026 and after are subject to a return shipping fee that is based on the return address. The cost will be shown before your return label is generated.
  • A restocking fee of $2 per dress or romper will be charged for all returns, except for sale dresses and rompers, which are excluded from the restocking fee and are final sale.
  • The online return portal will generate a shipping label for what you are returning. The cost of this label will be deducted from your refund once we process your return, upon receiving and inspecting the item(s).

Return Label Expiration

  • Once your return label has been issued, you will have 4 days to drop off your return package. After this period, the label will expire and a new return request will need to be submitted.

Return Processing

  • Once we have received and accepted your package, your refund will be issued within 7-10 business days. You’ll receive an email confirmation once your refund has been processed.
  • Please note that it may take your financial institution 3–5 business to post the refund to your account. In some cases, it may take up to 7–10 business days, depending on your bank.
  • Refunds issued through PayPal typically appear between 7-10 business days after a return has been processed.
  • Original shipping charges are non-refundable.

Return Conditions: 

We encourage you to try on your items, but they must be returned unaltered and in the same new condition in which they were received. Items returned with signs of wear, damage, odors, stains, or alterations will not be eligible for a refund and may be sent back to you. Rest assured, are carefully inspected upon receipt.

  • Items must be received within 30 days of your order's ship date.
  • All returned items must be unworn, unwashed, and in original condition with all original tags attached. Items with removed, missing, altered, or reattached tags will not be accepted.
  • Items must be returned in the same new, unworn condition in which they were received. Items returned with signs of wear, makeup, self-tanner, hair, fibers, pet hair, dander, dust, dirt, deodorant, perfume, smoke, odors, stains, alterations, damage, or any other indication of use will not be accepted.
  • Items must be returned inside protective packaging, such as the polybag or box it was originally shipped with, to keep them safe in transit back to us.
  • Final Sale:
    • Items discounted by more than 20%, including purchases made using discount codes exceeding 20% off, are considered "FINAL SALE" and cannot be returned or exchanged.
    • Item marked as “FINAL SALE” in the item description cannot be exchanged or returned. This includes, but is not limited to, sale items, bodysuits, intimates, select jewelry, sunglasses, belts, hats, bags, and vintage items.
    • Any Final Sale item returned to us will be sent back to the customer.
  • Bodysuits:
    • For hygienic reasons, all bodysuits are final sale and cannot be returned or exchanged.
  • Footwear:
    • Shoes must be returned clean, unworn, undamaged, and in their original shoe box. The shoe box must be placed inside a separate shipping box or mailer. Returns with damaged shoe boxes or shoe boxes used as the shipping container will not be accepted.
  • Limited Return Policy:
    • LUV AJ, Gorjana, and Five and Two products are eligible for return within 7 days of delivery only. Items must be unworn and returned in their original packaging. To initiate a return, please contact us within 7 days of delivery.
  • Promotional Returns:
    • If you return products that were contingent on receiving a discount (Ex: $20 off $100, Buy 2 Take 20% off), your applied discount becomes invalid, which will be reflected in your refund.
  • BOGO Promotion Returns:
    • When purchasing items as part of a BOGO sale, the promotional discount is applied to the lowest priced item, then distributed to each item proportionately. If you choose to return any of the items, your refund amount will be reduced to the discounted amount for each item.
    • BOGO Free: If the first qualifying item is $60 & your second qualifying item is $40, the $60 item will be discounted by $24 and the $40 item will be discounted by $16, which gives a total discount of $40. If either item is returned, the return value will be equal to the original purchase price reduced by its prorated discount.
    • BOGO 50% Off: If your first qualifying item is $60 and your second qualifying item is $40, the $60 item will be discounted by $12 and the $40 item will be discounted by $8, which gives a total discount of $20. If either item is returned, the return value will be equal to the original purchase price reduced by its prorated discount.

Damaged or Incorrect Items

  • If you receive an incorrect or damaged item, please contact us at [email protected] within 7 days of delivery.
  • To qualify for a replacement or refund, the item must be unworn, unwashed, in its original condition, and have all original tags attached. If the issue is due to an error on our part, we will provide a prepaid return shipping label at no cost to you.

In-Store Returns for Online Orders

  • Online purchases may be returned in-store for exchange or store credit only.
  • If you would like a refund to your original payment method, you must submit your return through our online returns portal.
  • To be eligible for an in-store return, items must be brought to a store within 21 days of the ship date and meet all requirements outlined in our return policy.
  • Orders placed using Afterpay, Klarna, or PayPal cannot be returned in-store and must be sent back to our warehouse through our online returns process.
  • Restocking fees do not apply to items returned in-store.
  • Online purchases cannot be refunded in-store.
  • The online store cannot accept returns for in-store purchases.

International Returns

  • The online return portal is not available for international orders.
  • Customers are responsible for purchasing their own return shipping label.
  • We recommend using a trackable shipping service, as we cannot guarantee receipt of returned packages.

Policy Enforcement Notice:

We reserve the right to deny any return or refund if an item shows signs of wear, use, alterations, odors, stains, damage, or is returned outside of our 30-day return window. Returns that do not comply with our policy may be rejected and shipped back to the sender.

To help protect against misuse of our return policy, returns that violate these guidelines may be subject to a restocking fee of up to 20%.

Additionally, we may limit, suspend, or close accounts if we identify excessive or unusual return activity, including but not limited to returning worn merchandise, repeatedly purchasing and returning large quantities of items, or returning incorrect, incomplete, or non-company merchandise. Customers who believe their account has been affected in error are encouraged to contact our Customer Experience team for assistance.

Excessive Return Policy

American Threads reserves the right to limit or refuse service to customers that show excessive return activity, which is defined with a return rate of 70% or more or (ii) $1,000 of returns in a 6-month period. Return rate is calculated as the dollar amount of returns over the relevant period divided by the dollar amount of purchases over the same period. Customers that fall within the above criteria will be subject to a modified return policy, which may include but is not limited to, returns for store credit only, cancellation of orders, and disqualification or pause of our loyalty program benefits.

American Threads reserves the right to limit or reduce service to customers with excessive return activity.

Please note that customer support is available on Monday through Friday, from 8am - 3:30pm (PST). Orders placed on Friday will be processed the following Monday or Tuesday.
