INVENTORY SPECIALIST

Reports To: Store Manager

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Location: 1612 S. University Drive #403, Fort Worth, TX 76107

WHO WE ARE:

Since 2009, American Threads has grown into a multi-location brand with boutiques across Texas, Arizona, Georgia, and Florida – alongside a thriving online store that reaches customers nationwide. Headquartered in California, we blend West Coast creativity with Southern Charm to deliver an elevated retail experience both in-store and online.

We empower individuals to show up confidently and express their personal style for every milestone moment – whether it’s a graduation, a bridal event, a birthday, or just a night out with the people they love. We combine trend-forward looks with timeless influences to create styles that feel current, effortless, and uniquely you.

American Threads is the land of the free, home of the babes – and that means we celebrate bold energy, originality, and the freedom to be exactly who you are. In our stores, you’ll find more than a great outfit. You’ll find a team of stylists who know how to turn a moment into a memory, hype you up in the fitting room, and build a look that tells a story.

WHO YOU ARE:

Great product doesn’t sell itself – it has to be in the right place, looking its best, at exactly the right time. That’s where you come in. As an Inventory Specialist at American Threads, you’re the engine behind a floor that’s always fresh, always stocked, and always on-brand.

You work closely with the Store Manager to keep inventory flowing seamlessly from the back of house to the sales floor – and you bring a sharp eye for visual presentation that makes every display feel intentional. If you’re someone who takes pride in operational precision, loves the behind-the-scenes side of retail, and understands that a well-organized stockroom is just as important as a beautiful floor, this role is for you.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Inventory Management

  • Own the full shipment cycle – processing inbound and outbound merchandise, reconciling invoices, and partnering with the Buying Team to resolve any discrepancies
  • Ensure all incoming product is floor-ready and meets American Threads’ presentation and quality standards before it hits the sales floor
  • Conduct bi-monthly cycle counts with accuracy and follow through on resolving any inventory discrepancies
  • Keep the back-of-house organized, clean, and safe – because a great store experience starts before the customer walks in
  • Coach team members in stockroom organization, product care, and floor replenishment standards
  • Reinforce loss prevention and operational compliance across all inventory and merchandising processes

Visual Merchandising

  • Partner with the Store Manager to analyze inventory reports and make strategic product placement decisions that support revenue goals
  • Execute visual merchandising strategies with a polished, on-brand eye – every fixture, rack, table, and display should feel intentional and compelling
  • Support daily sell-down and replenishment to keep the floor looking full and fresh throughout the day
  • Rotate and refresh merchandise regularly to spotlight new arrivals, seasonal trends, and top-performing styles
  • Audit floor and stockroom presentation daily to ensure consistent adherence to brand standards and operational excellence
  • Leverage Item Summary and category performance reports to identify top-performing styles, slow-moving product, and opportunities to reposition and promote merchandise strategically
  • Utilize category reports to track performance by category, identify opportunities and risks, and build clear action plans to close gaps and drive category-level goals

WHY AMERICAN THREADS:

  • Be part of a fast-growing, trend-forward women’s fashion brand where operational excellence and beautiful presentation go hand in hand
  • Work alongside a passionate, collaborative team in a dynamic, fashion-focused environment that values your expertise
  • Grow your skills in visual merchandising, inventory management, and retail operations – with real opportunities for career advancement within the brand

WHAT YOU BRING:

  • 2+ years of experience in visual merchandising, retail operations, or a fashion-focused environment
  • A strong eye for aesthetics – you understand color theory, product placement, and what makes a display stop someone in their tracks
  • Operational precision: you’re organized, detail-oriented, and take inventory accuracy seriously
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to coach and support teammates on standards
  • A passion for fashion and an understanding of trend-driven merchandising
  • Strong time management and the ability to juggle multiple priorities without losing your attention to detail
  • Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, holidays, and pre-opening shifts as need
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Must be 18 years of age or older

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to stand and walk continuously for up to 8 hours
  • Frequent talking, walking, stooping, kneeling, and crouching throughout the shift
  • Comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs
